Dr. Derek Lewis graduated from the University of Toronto with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1997. His undergraduate studies were obtained in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Lewis has been practicing dentistry in Sudbury since 2010, and worked on Manitoulin Island from 1997 to 2014.
Dr. Lewis strives to continually improve his dental practice with the newest technology. His skills are upgraded continually with the help of ongoing courses to better serve his patients. He is a member of the RCDS (Royal College of Dental Surgeons), ODA (Ontario Dental Association), SDDS (Sudbury District Dental Society), and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Lewis was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He grew up in Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island and returned there to work when he graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He began working in Sudbury in 2010 at Long Lake Family Dentistry and maintains the Wikwemikong Dental Clinic with the help of a dental associate.
Over more than twenty years living and working in Northern Ontario, Dr. Lewis has maintained a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the area he grew up in. The Long Lake Dental Clinic was recently moved to a larger and updated office space — staying up to date with current technology and techniques is part of a commitment to bring optimal care to every patient.

Dr. Lewis and his wife Amanda moved to Sudbury with their two boys Jadyn and Ryan, establishing Long Lake Family Dentistry and becoming an integral part of the Sudbury community.
